This is an acronym which stands for Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning. An air conditioner is like an ACME box that makes hot air cold. But it’s not really magic, it is atctually really smart and scientific. It’s smart science! It doesn’t actually make cold air. Instead, it removes heat and moisture. Pulling it directly from the air so that it cools down.

Here’s how it works:

1. Breathe In: The AC pulls warm air from your home.
2. Get Chilly: Inside the AC we have this special liquid called refrigerant. This refrigerant changes from liquid to gas. It absorbs heat when it does.
3. Heat Goodbye: The refrigerant carries this heat to the coils outside your house. There, the heat goes away into the air outside.

That’s it. The cycle repeats to keep your room cool.
